The new Nottingham Forest boss handed Tavernier a new three-year Rangers contract while still in charge at Ibrox.

Rangers defender James Tavernier is a summer target for Mark Warburton at Nottingham Forest, the Daily Mail reports.
Tavernier was brought to Ibrox by Warburton in 2015, and starred in Rangers’ promotion back to the top flight last term.
The right-back’s form led to him being handed a new three-year deal last summer, although he has since endured a mixed campaign.
Nevertheless, his name is said to feature on a list of targets drawn up by Warburton’s ex-Rangers colleague Frank McParland, who is Forest’s new director of football.
The Daily Mail reports that Warburton has been promised funds to strengthen the Reds’ squad this summer, and he could be in need of a new right-back with Hildeberto Pereira’s loan from Benfica expiring at the end of the campaign.
Tavernier began his career at Newcastle United, before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2014.

The 25-year-old is not the only player to be linked with a move to Forest this week, after Fulham’s Ryan Tunnicliffe, whose situation Rangers are also said to be monitoring (Daily Mail).
