Nottingham Forest recently hired former Rangers trio Mark Warburton, David Weir and Frank McParland after their departures from Ibrox last month.
Fulham’s Ryan Tunnicliffe
Nottingham Forest and Glasgow Rangers could go head-to-head for the signature of Fulham midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe this summer, the Daily Mail reports.
It is claimed the pair are among several British clubs – along with Reading, Huddersfield Town, Brentford, Queens Park Rangers, Ipswich Town and Cardiff City – to have shown an interest in the 24-year-old, who will be allowed to leave Fulham at the end of his contract in June.
Rangers were previously credited with an interest in Tunnicliffe ahead of the January transfer window (also Mail), however, the former Manchester United youngster later returned to the north west to sign for Wigan Athletic on loan.
Now, with former Ibrox boss Mark Warburton and head of recruitment Frank McParland recently sworn into equivalent roles at Nottingham Forest, the pair’s interest appears to have carried over to the City Ground.
Both Rangers and Forest’s midfield pools are set to decrease in size this summer, with the loan deals of Emerson Hyndman, Jon Toral (both Rangers) and Aaron Tshibola (Forest) expiring.
(L-R) Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Michael Keane, Michele Fornasier and Ryan Tunnicliffe with the FA Youth Cup trophy
Signing Tunnicliffe, who won the FA Youth Cup alongside United’s Paul Pogba and QPR’s Ravel Morrison during his formative years at Old Trafford, could help to fill the void left by either of the above trio, having racked up over 150 Championship appearances to date.
Would Tunnicliffe be a good signing for Nottingham Forest/Glasgow Rangers?
