According to Football London, Rangers are interested in signing Crystal Palace wonderkid Daniel Quick, who could now leave the Premier League side.

What’s the story?

Well, Quick signed a professional contract with Crystal Palace in 2021, but Rangers are now sniffing around as he struggles for game time.

The 19-year-old last played a league game for the Crystal Palace Under-23 side in August, and he could now be off in search of regular football.

It is said that Quick’s opportunities are also being limited by fringe first-team options dropping down into the Under-23 side to maintain their fitness.

In addition to Rangers, Football London believe Southampton, Leicester and PSV Eindhoven are also interested in the teenager.

Quick – who idolises Sergio Ramos – is described as someone who’s confident in possession, as well as a threat from set-pieces (CPFC).

By all accounts, the defender looks to be a fine prospect.

Interestingly, Borussia Dortmund are also interested in signing Quick, according to Football London.

The Bundesliga route has been a successful one for young English talent in recent years, specifically Borussia Dortmund.

Both Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham have tasted life at the Signal Iduna Park, rising to stardom in front of the yellow wall.

Bellingham is now an England international valued at £90m, whereas Sancho became a £73m player when moving to Manchester United back in July.

In that respect, Quick could quite easily follow in Sancho’s footsteps if he succeeds in Germany, especially as there’s already Premier League clubs watching him.

Keep an eye on this saga – if Rangers can fend off the likes of Borussia Dortmund to sign Quick, it would be a big statement.
