Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers side are said to be keen on the idea of bringing Djed Spence to Ibrox, according to ESPN, with Everton also chasing him.

Spence has impressed at Middlesbrough this term, with Rangers now keeping a close eye on the right-back.

Rangers do already have James Tavernier, who surely won’t lose his place in Gerrard’s line-up any time soon due to his attacking quality, but Spence could offer Gerrard’s side some real options.

The rapid full-back is also interesting both Wolves and Everton, with teams queuing up to sign him.

Everton’s interest in the defender is not quite as strong as Rangers’ though, as Carlo Ancelotti’s side are really targeting Max Aarons, who is their first choice.

Spence actually caught the eye of Jose Mourinho last season, when Middlesbrough took on Tottenham in the FA Cup.

The 20-year-old energy in the FA Cup clashes, led to Spurs having an interest in the defender, with Mourinho personally impressed (London Evening Standard).

That shows just what a prospect Spence could be, and if he was to arrive at Rangers he would surely be an exciting addition to the Scottish side for future years.
