According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez does not want to sell Raphael Varane amid reported interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
According to a report in Diario Madridista in February, Liverpool are interested in signing the 27-year-old France international central defender from Spanish and European giants Madrid in the summer of 2021.
Varane is out of contract at Madrid at the end of next season, and Madrid president Perez reportedly does not want to sell him.
The report in Defensa Central has added that Perez also wants to hand Sergio Ramos a new contract, with the Spain international centre-back currently set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Unlikely Liverpool transfer?
Varane is one of the best central defenders in the world and is a serial winner with Madrid.

It is hard to see Los Blancos cash in on the 27-year-old at the end of the season, as it would leave them with big shoes to fill.
It is very likely that Varane – who Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said on Twitch last month that he always finds “tough” to play against – and Madrid will come to an agreement over a new deal soon.
