According to The Athletic, Watford have held talks with Fenerbahçe over the signing of Ozan Tufan, who Leeds and Everton are also monitoring.
What’s the story?
Well, it has been said that Everton even submitted a bid for the 63-cap Turkey international, who appeared at EURO 2020.
Elsewhere, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koc said that he wouldn’t sell Tufan for anything under £18m, amid interest from Leeds.
Now, Watford have joined the race for the 26-year-old.
The Athletic believe Tufan is on the Hornets’ shortlist, and is currently being considered by Xisco’s side.
However, they stress that nothing has been agreed yet.
Who is Ozan Tufan?

The stocky centre-midfielder is an interesting player.
At EURO 2020, Tufan didn’t look like a goal threat at all.
However, in 37 Süper Lig appearances last season, he scored six goals and registered ten assists.
You could argue against the quality of Turkey’s top-flight, although there’s no denying how impressive those numbers are from midfield.

Additionally, by way of comparison, Tufan’s image has been boosted following comparisons to Yaya Toure of all players.
His coach during the 2015/16 season, Vitor Pereira, made the bold comparison, which was an interesting one given the differing physiques of both players.
Nevertheless, Tufan must have something in his locker for so many Premier League clubs to be fighting over him – keep your eyes on this saga.
