Arsenal target Joao Felix does not fancy a move to Aston Villa in the January transfer window, but his agent, Jorge Mendes, wants him to make switch to Villa Park, according to BirminghamLive.

The report has claimed that super-agent Mendes is pushing Atletico Madrid attacker Felix, on the radar of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal among other clubs, towards a move to Villa.

Mendes thinks that the Villans are going places under head coach Unai Emery and is also close to the Premier League club’s hierarchy,

However, according to the report, Felix himself is not sure and ‘will need convincing given Villa are still some way off securing European football’.

That’s because the Gunners are also keen on signing the 23-year-old, who played for Portugal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup and can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder.

AS.reported this week that Arsenal are interested in Felix, while 90min have claimed that Chelsea, Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Paris Saint-Germain all want him.

Villa could become a force to be reckoned with under Emery, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

It would take a while.

Arsenal are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table at the moment, and have a young and dynamic team under manager Mikel Arteta.

Felix could fit in nicely at Arsenal.
