Fabio Paratici has reportedly made contact with Weston McKennie’s representatives over a January transfer, but the midfielder likely won’t join Tottenham this month.
According to Football London, the American international is a target for Spurs in the final week of the transfer window. However, Juventus are not open to selling McKennie to Tottenham midway through the season.
Despite looking like a player Massimiliano Allegri was open to selling in the summer, McKennie has worked his way back into Juventus’ starting XI, with the midfielder starting 14 Serie A games this campaign and scoring an impressive four goals in all competitions.
Whilst the midfielder was available for sale in the summer, it appears that Juventus have now gone back on the decision on McKennie, who Paratici has reportedly been in contact with this week.
As well as talks between the managing director and the player’s representatives, Gazzetta dello Sport report that Antonio Conte has asked for McKennie to be signed by Paratici this month, with Tottenham yet to make a signing in the window.
Like most clubs in the Premier League, Spurs have been quiet this January. However, after their latest loss to Chelsea, a new signing could be made before the deadline next week, yet that player will not be McKennie.
Tottenham have to go all out for McKennie in the summer

McKennie was a revelation for Juventus last season, and this campaign has seen the 23-year-old yet again defy the odds after the saga in the summer and return to the Old Lady XI under Allegri, and for Tottenham, they need to sign the midfielder in the summer.
The American is a hard worker in the centre of the park who can offer both defensive and attacking output for Spurs. And with Juventus not open to selling McKennie this month, Tottenham have to approach the youngster in the summer.
