Birmingham City have been strongly linked with a move for the Derby County forward.
A report on page 47 of Tuesday’s Sun newspaper claims Derby County want £3.5 million for rumoured Birmingham City target Johnny Russell.
The Sun on Sunday reported that the Blues had lodged a £2 million bid for the Scotland international, who has also been linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.

And according to the Daily Mail, the Blues are yet to get close to Derby’s valuation, nor that of Swansea City winger Wayne Routledge.
The Sun reports that Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako – another said to have featured on Birmingham’s short list – could replace Russell at Pride Park, following speculation regarding a £4 million move there earlier this month.

Derby effectively operated a sell-to-buy policy during the summer transfer window and have already spent £2.5 million on Middlesbrough striker David Nugent, which could explain the Rams’ high demands for Russell.
This week’s Sunday People reported that Steve McClaren’s men are considering a move for Macclesfield Town winger Danny Rowe, while a report in the Sun last week claimed that Derby’s Tom Ince is an £8 million target for Newcastle United.
