Nuno Espirito Santo will now have the final call on a deal to bring Joachim Andersen to Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mail.
Tottenham desperately need defensive additions this summer, especially with Toby Alderweireld looking to leave the club.
Given that Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier struggled last season, Tottenham needed a centre back regardless of Alderweireld’s future – and it looks like a few targets are emerging.
Tottenham’s centre back chase
Sky Sports claim that Tottenham have held talks for Bologna star Takehiro Tomiyasu, whilst The Times add that they are also in negotiations for Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard.
Andersen is another interesting option though, with the Mail reporting over the weekend that the Lyon ace is being lined up to replace Alderweireld.
The 24-year-old excelled on loan at Fulham last season but is now back with Lyon, who are seemingly expecting to sell him.

Nuno has final say on Andersen to Tottenham
It’s now stated that Tottenham have a move lined up for Andersen, which could cost around £25million.
Yet with Nuno now on board as Tottenham’s new manager, he will be given the final say on whether or not to finalise the Andersen deal.
The Dane describes himself as ‘vocal’, which is exactly what Tottenham need at the back after some poor defensive showings last season.
It doesn’t seem like Tottenham will sign Andersen, Tomiyasu and Vestergaard unless certain players leave, so Nuno has a big decision to make.
