According to Ynet in Israel, Nir Bitton has played an important role in helping Celtic sign Maccabi Petah Tikva attacker Liel Abada.
The report notes that Abada is now in Glasgow and will undergo a medical to join Celtic in a deal worth around £3.5million.
An interesting note is that Bitton allegedly recommended a move for Abada, with the Bhoys asking the midfielder about his international teammate.
Bitton also told Abada to make the move to Celtic, playing a vital role on both sides of the deal having played with Abada during their time in the Israel side.
The 29-year-old was actually linked with a move away back in February, with Maccabi Tel-Aviv believed to be keen on signing Bitton.
That Celtic sought his opinion on Abada suggests that Bitton will be staying at Parkhead after all, joining forces with Abada.

The 19-year-old attacker has become one of Israel’s top talents, hitting 20 goals and 10 assists in 76 appearances for Maccabi Petah Tikva.
This looks to be an exciting addition for Celtic, and they have Bitton to thank for helping bring the winger to Scotland ahead of the Champions League registration deadline.
