According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic ace Nir Bitton could make a move back to Israel this summer with Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
It’s claimed that Maccabi want to went Bitton’s time with Celtic and are prepared to make a cash bid for him this summer.
Bitton is under contract for two more years though, meaning Celtic are under no pressure to sell on the cheap any time soon.
Bitton isn’t thought to be chasing an exit, but an interesting note is that the Celtic man’s second cousin – Dan Bitton – currently plays for Maccabi.
Signed from FC Ashdod way back in the summer of 2013, Bitton has now racked up 230 appearances for Celtic, offering versatility under a number of managers.
He has played at centre back or in holding midfield under Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila, Brendan Rodgers and now Lennon again, but a return to Israel could be on the cards.

Celtic fans branded him ‘majestic’ just a matter of months ago, believing that he was a better option than Shane Duffy at centre back.
Hatem Abd Elhamed is heading back to Israel with Hapoel Be’er Sheva, and Bitton may soon face a decision on whether to make a similar move.
