Newcastle United’s Elias Sorensen has been in fine form this season.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United are planning to send striker Elias Sorensen out to a League One or League Two club rather than put him into Rafael Benitez’s first-team setup.
Whilst Newcastle’s strikers have been struggling for goals in the Premier League this season, youngster Sorensen has been thriving in the youth ranks.
The 19-year-old Dane, signed from HB Koge in 2016, has hit eight goals in eight Premier League 2 appearances, as well as two goals in two EFL Trophy games, making it 10 in 10 for the season.
With such a talented youngster coming up through the ranks, it’s no great surprise that Newcastle fans have been clamouring for Sorensen to be given a first-team opportunity in an attempt to solve the Magpies’ goalscoring woes.
However, those fans are set to be disappointed, as Newcastle seemingly won’t be promoting Sorensen any time soon, with The Chronicle reporting that a move to a League One or even League Two club is on the horizon.

That would give the teenager some experience of senior football before going into the Newcastle first team, which could be crucial to his development.
Benitez has never really been one to promote youth team stars into the first team, and whilst Sorensen has fans excited, a drop down to the fourth tier – even if only temporarily – would show that he just isn’t quite ready for Premier League football yet.
