According to UOL, Newcastle and West Ham are interested in signing Joao Pedro from Watford, although a deal could annoy Liverpool.
What’s the story?
Well, the South American news outlet believe Eddie Howe and David Moyes are keen to raid Watford, after they suffered relegation to the Championship.
West Ham are also interested in Pedro’s teammate Emmanuel Dennis, although they face strong competition from Crystal Palace.
For now, however, let’s focus on UOL‘s story.
It is said that Watford are willing to sell the 20-year-old for a fee in the region of €30m (£26m) – €40m (£34m) this summer.
If a deal materialised, it would see the Hornets land a big profit on the €11.5m (£10m) they paid for Pedro back in 2018.
However, 10% of any fee must go to Fluminense.
In 29 appearances for Watford this season, Pedro scored four goals, while also providing one assist.
That isn’t exactly amazing, although the youngster remains a very highly rated prospect who could soon explode in English football.
Newcastle or West Ham deal could upset Liverpool

If Pedro ends up joining either Newcastle or West Ham this summer, it could ruin Liverpool’s hopes of signing Benfica marksman Darwin Nunez.
It has been said that Benfica are also keen on the Brazilian prospect, and would look to sign Pedro if Nunez is taken from them.
However, if the Magpies or the Hammers end up signing the South American wonderkid, then Benfica will probably keep Nunez until they find another option to replace him.

That could either leave Jürgen Klopp waiting ages to land his target, or it could even see the German miss out altogether, both of which aren’t exactly ideal scenarios.
Whatever happens, be sure to keep an eye on this interesting saga, as it could cause a domino effect throughout the Premier League.
