According to The Sun, Andrea Belotti has been offered to Newcastle, West Ham and Everton as he aims to secure a move to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italy international is now a free agent after deciding not to extend his contract with Torino.
Belotti has spent the past seven years with Torino, making 251 appearances in total for the Serie A side, but he has now chosen to give up his hero status in Turin with the intention of playing in England.
The Sun believe the 28-year-old’s representatives are trying to find him a place in the Premier League, with Newcastle, West Ham and Everton all receiving contact.
Belotti has decided to come to the Premier League after making 23 appearances in his final season for Torino, scoring eight goals while also providing one assist.
Throughout his career so far, the EURO 2020 winner has impressively scored 158 goals in 390 games.
Belotti has even been likened to Harry Kane as a result of his goalscoring exploits in Italy, while Sky Sports have also compared him to Jamie Vardy.
That is not bad company to be surrounded by, to say the least.
Newcastle, West Ham & Everton need Belotti
In our view, Eddie Howe, David Moyes and Frank Lampard should all be interested in this opportunity.
Newcastle are currently relying on Chris Wood and Callum Wilson going into the 2022/23 campaign, with the latter very prone to injuries.
Michail Antonio is also someone susceptible to an injury or two, so if Moyes fails with his £43m bid to sign Gianluca Scamacca, Belotti would be an interesting alternative.
Lastly, Lampard also needs a new forward after losing Richarlison, and that need will become even greater if he loses Dominic Calvert-Lewin as well.
Newcastle are supposedly preparing a bid for the England international.
