The speedy full-back could be on his way to the Championship.
Tottenham’s DeAndre Yedlin warms up
Newcastle United and Aston Villa have both submitted £5 million bids for Spurs defender DeAndre Yedlin, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims the Magpies want a replacement for Daryl Janmaat while Villa want to bring in competition for Alan Hutton.
DeAndre Yedlin
Yedlin spent last season on loan at Sunderland and impressed but has seemingly not done enough to convince Mauricio Pochettino to keep him at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have one of the league’s best right-backs in Kyle Walker at their disposal, while Kieran Trippier has proved an able deputy in his absence.
Tottenham’s Kyle Walker in action
The Lilywhites are unlikely to finish the transfer window with three senior right-backs on their books and so Yedlin’s exit appears to be inevitable.
It is unclear whether he will be allowed to leave on another loan or on a permanent basis, but the quoted £5 million offered would be a tidy return on the £2.5 million paid for the American (according to the Guardian) back in 2014.
Georges-Kevin Nkoudou at Marseille
On the incoming front, Spurs are close to securing deals for both Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Pau Lopez as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add the finishing touches to his squad before the window slams shut.
