According to Calcio Mercato Web, Newcastle are now ready to spend big on a move for West Ham and Everton target Hakan Calhanoglu.

Newcastle plan move for West Ham & Everton target

Well, the Italian news outlet believe the Magpies are ready to offer €35m (£31m) to sign the Turkey international.

Calcio Mercato Web add that Inter Milan are currently up for sale, so those in the boardroom at the San Siro may be willing to cash in on Calhanoglu.

It comes after Calciomercato revealed that Everton have enquired about the Inter Milan No.20 – elsewhere, it was a separate report from Calcio Mercato Web which stated that West Ham are keen.

Calhanoglu has been one of Inter Milan’s best players so far this season, scoring two goals while also providing three assists – despite Simone Inzaghi occasionally moving him into a deeper midfield role.

The 28-year-old will have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season, so Inter Milan may be tempted to sell while his stock is high.

Newcastle, West Ham & Everton face Calhanoglu fight

The Magpies, Hammers and the Toffees aren’t the only Premier League sides keen on Calhanoglu.

Calcio Mercato Web add that Erik ten Hag is thinking about bringing the German-born maestro to Manchester United, and is specifically intent on getting a deal finalised in January.

The Red Devils can offer Calhanoglu a significant pay packet, as well as the chance to play Europa League football.

West Ham can offer him UEFA Conference League football, but as things stand, Newcastle and Everton do not find themselves in a position to offer that luxury.

Of course, Calhanoglu himself could decide to stay at Inter Milan, if they manage to qualify for the last 16 in the Champions League.

Keep an eye on this situation, as the Inter Milan maestro should be in the headlines this winter.
