Newcastle United want Jesper Lindstrom as they consider rivalling Liverpool for the Eintracht Frankfurt star this summer.
The race for Lindstrom’s signature appears to be heating up.
That is according to a report from Ekstrabladet in Lindstrom’s native Denmark, who claim that the Magpies have joined the hunt.
Newcastle want Lindstrom but face a challenge with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Napoli.
Lindstrom still has three years left on his contract so Frankfurt will be keen to demand a hefty fee for their star midfielder.
The 23-year-old has played out wide and as a number 10, posing a major threat to Bundesliga defences.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe may well see Lindstrom as a versatile attacking option moving forward and the Magpies could launch a big move.

Yet Lindstrom may have a dream move in mind – and it would be to join Liverpool.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported in April that Liverpool made contact to try and sign Frankfurt star Lindstrom.
A price of around £44million was mentioned as Liverpool look to freshen up their squad this summer.
The links to Liverpool are particularly interesting as Lindstrom indicated in 2022 that he has always been a Reds fan.
Lindstrom outlined that his dream was to play for Liverpool if a move to Anfield became possible.
Jurgen Klopp and co appear to be interested and that makes Newcastle’s task a little tricky.
Hailed as a ‘huge talent’ by teammate Kevin Trapp, Lindstrom appears destined for a big move – but if it comes down to Newcastle v Liverpool, the Magpies may lose out.
