By his own admission, Jesper Lindstrom had some work to do on his end product. And, after spending hours on the training ground perfecting his first touch and adding some much-needed composure to his speed and skill, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Denmark international is reaping the rewards, that burning desire for self-improvement manifesting itself in an increasingly impressive goals tally.
“I worked with our assistant coach on the two touches up to the shot on goal. I was too hectic last season. Now I’m calmer,” Lindstrom explains to BILD.
“These are topics that we have been discussing with him for over a year,” adds Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner. “He used to mess up the first touch a lot, but now he’s doing a lot better. And that’s why he has the necessary time to finish.”

Arsenal are big fans of Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jesper Lindstrom
That new-found ruthlessness was there for all to see as Frankfurt blew away the similarly-inconsistent Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday; cruising into a 3-0 half-time lead.
Lindstrom waltzed through the home defence before finishing intelligently with just six minutes on the clock – trying to stop the 22-year-old at full flow is like trying to catch an eel with your bare hands – before calmly doubling his tally with a smooth finish one-v-one.
Since being linked with a £17 million move to Arsenal – BILD say that talks with the Gunners have already taken place – Lindstrom has scored five times in just seven games. And, with seven in all competitions this term, the former Brondby boss already has more goals this term than across the entirety of 2021/22.
“Jesper is still very young but is a huge talent,” says Frankfurt team-mate and Germany international Kevin Trapp, Lindstrom’s new-found self-confidence highlighted by that gorgeous chipped finish in the 5-1 thumping of Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the month (Sky’s Bundesliga Highlights Show).
“He shows it now more often. He’s (playing at) a high level, he’s on top form. The goal he scored last week against Leverkusen was beautiful and I guess he has a lot of confidence right now.”
