Spanish newspaper SPORT claim Newcastle are also in the mix to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves. Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona also want the Portugal ace, with a fee of £42.5million required to land him.
Neves, 25, is about to enter the last two years of his Wolves contract. Barcelona are desperate to get him, but whether they can afford his £42.5million asking price remains to be seen. Barca also want Raphinha.

However, the Nou Camp outfit are open to a part-exchange deal. But they are not the only club looking to sign Neves – with Arsenal and Manchester United regularly linked. Now, Newcastle are also said to be interested.
The Toon are likely to make a few big-name additions this summer and will have the cash to not only afford Newcastle – but also offer him some big wages. Alan Shearer said in in 2018 he has a “wonderful array of passing”.

A move to Barcelona is the one Neves wants, as per SPORT. Champions League football, under Xavi, battling for the La Liga title. It is easy to see why he would be tempted by the Nou Camp. But can they afford him?
Time will tell. In the Premier League, Arsenal and Manchester United would also be big moves for Neves – and both are in need of a midfielder. He would arguably each side’s best central midfielder, if he did join.
At United, he would team up with Portugal teammates Diego Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo – and still get Europa League football. Could the project at Newcastle tempt him? Neves has some thinking to do.
