Newcastle have now launched a huge bid to sign Liverpool and Tottenham target Youssoufa Moukoko.
What’s the story?
Well, it has been a quiet January transfer window for Eddie Howe so far, but the Magpies are now plotting their first significant move – according to the Evening Standard.
It is believed that Newcastle have made a substantial verbal offer for Moukoko, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
It comes after BILD in Germany claimed that Liverpool want to sign the Borussia Dortmund wonderkid.
Elsewhere, it was 90min who revealed that Tottenham are interested in Moukoko.
Now, the Magpies have made the first genuine swoop to sign the Germany international.

The Evening Standard believe Newcastle have offered Moukoko a £150,000-a-week salary as they aim to fend off Europe’s elite to sign the 18-year-old sensation.
Chelsea and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the German prodigy.
Moukoko earned a call-up to Germany’s 26-man World Cup squad after a stunning start to the season, which saw him score six goals and provide six assists in 22 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
Newcastle could make Liverpool & Tottenham envy them
In our view, if Howe and Dan Ashworth can lure Moukoko to Tyneside, Newcastle would have a strike pairing capable of potentially dominating European football for years.
In additional to Alexander Isak, Moukoko is widely regarded as one of the greatest young prospects around, so if Newcastle had both in their ranks, under a bright coach in Howe, then they sky is the limit.
Samuel Eto’o has compared the German prodigy to Lionel Messi, and it is difficult to escape the belief that he will develop into one of the best strikers around within the next decade.
Moukoko remarkably scored 90 goals in 56 appearances for the Borussia Dortmund Under-17 side, before netting 47 strikes in just 25 outings for the Under-19 team.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, with Newcastle waiting to hear back from the German sensation.
