Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are about to make a bid for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes, according to a report.
The Daily Mail are reporting this morning that Newcastle United are keen on signing Harvey Barnes from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Newcastle are ready to make a bid of £25 million initially for the England international winger, described as “unbelievable” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in Metro in February 2021.
Leicester are looking for £60 million in transfer fees for the 25-year-old, but Newcastle “are now confident of securing a considerably lower fee”.
Could Newcastle United sign Harvey Barnes for £25 million?
In our opinion, Newcastle United are unlikely to be able to sign Harvey Barnes from Leicester City for £25 million.

If Leicester are looking for £60 million, then it is hard to see the Foxes accept £25 million for him.
Moreover, Newcastle are not the only club who are keen on the 25-year-old.
The Northern Echo have reported interest in Barnes from West Ham United, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.
So, if Leicester are ready to accept £25 million for Barnes, then surely the likes of Villa, West Hama and Spurs will bid for him as well.
