Harvey Barnes is reportedly keen on a move to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United amid interest from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The Northern Echo have reported that Newcastle United, Aston Villa, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur all are interested in signing Harvey Barnes from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Newcastle and Leicester are in advanced talks over a transfer for Barnes, described as “unbelievable” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in Metro in February 2021.

And, according to the report, the winger himself is keen on a move to the Magpies.

The Telegraph have also reported that Barnes is “keen to join” Newcastle, who will make a first bid for the England international in the coming days.

Could Tottenham Hotspur beat Newcastle United to Harvey Barnes signing?

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur still have a chance to beat Newcastle United to the signing of Harvey Barnes from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

After all, Newcastle have not actually agreed a fee with Leicester, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

And Barnes has not already personal terms with the Magpies.

So, if Tottenham now make a bid for Barnes and pay the transfer fee that Leicester want for him, then they could be able to persuade the 25-year-old to change his stance on Newcastle and move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium instead.

Barnes made 32 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leicester last season.

The Leicester no. 7 scored 13 goals and gave one assist in those games.
