Report: ‘New Gareth Bale’ will turn down Liverpool, has major doubt about Anfield move

Norrkoping are expecting to sell Isak Bergmann Johannesson in the summer transfer window but the wonderkid winger will reject a move to Premier League giants Liverpool, as reported by Fotboll Direkt.

The Kop faithful can be forgiven for wondering why any young player would turn down the chance to work under a coach who turned Trent Alexander-Arnold, Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mane, Marco Reus and many others into truly world-class talents.

But, according to reports from Sweden, Bergmann values regular first-team football over anything else at such a crucial stage in his career.

And, while the Iceland international is undeniably brimming with potential, he knows a move to Merseyside could see him restricted to the odd EFL Cup cameo. Bergmann can expect the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and even the returning Harvey Elliott ahead of him in Klopp’s pecking order.

But Bergmann only wants to join a club where he would be able to play week in, week out.

Liverpool, it seems, can wait.
