Arthur Melo is ‘most likely’ to return to Spain if the Brazilian leaves Juventus in the January transfer window, despite his Serie A side reportedly offering the midfielder to Arsenal.
That’s according to Goal, who report Arthur is one of several Bianconeri men with uncertain futures this month. Massimiliano Allegri wants to clear the deadwood at the Allianz Stadium to raise funds he hopes can go toward deals after a troubled return to the helm this season.
Juventus narrowly pipped Chelsea to top their Champions League group and book a last 16 tie with Villarreal. They also sit fifth in the Italian top-flight and trail Inter Milan by 12-points.

Allegri knows mid-season arrivals will not solve all of Juventus’ issues, but hopes a change of personnel will help. Therefore, Arthur, Dejan Kulusevski, Adrien Rabiot, Weston McKennie, Alex Sandro and Aaron Ramsey feature on his chopping block this month.
Arthur has failed to convince Allegri since the Italian replaced Andrea Pirlo last year. He only moved to Turin 11-months earlier in a £66m transfer from Barcelona, but has since struggled for fitness. While removing his €5m-a-year (£80k-a/w) salary will also help Allegri.
Sevilla likely set to sign Arthur, despite Juventus offering Arsenal transfer chance
Spain now appears to be Arthur’s ‘most likely’ destination away from Juventus, with Sevilla his probable destination. He could even travel to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium once the 25-year-old has recovered from coronavirus, after testing positive recently.

Arthur’s likely transfer to Sevilla will come as a blow to Arsenal – who Calciomercato noted were on pole for the Juventus maestro. The Gunners were also offered the chance to seal a deal last month, per Duncan Castles, who claimed the Old Lady also offered him to Sevilla.
The Brazilian could have been a worthwhile addition for Mikel Arteta during the mid-season market. Arsenal are set to offload Ainsley Maitland-Niles, so could do with the extra cover.
