Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are now reportedly facing competition from Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma for Andrea Belotti.

Tuttosport reported last week that Liverpool are interested in bringing Belotti to Anfield in the summer transfer window, as covered by HITC Sport.

The same publication claimed interest in the Italy international striker from Tottenham.

The 27-year-old is one of the better strikers in Serie A, and there is no surprise that Liverpool and Tottenham reportedly want to sign the Torino star.

Belotti has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in Serie A this season, and he found the back of the net 16 times in the league in 2019-20 and 15 times in the league in 2018-19.

Back in 2016-17, the Italy international striker actually scored as many as 26 times in Serie A.

Torino are not one of the giants of Italian football and are actually in danger of getting relegated to the second division at the end of the season.

However, Belotti does not seem to be affected by it and is still banging in the goals.

Spurs and Liverpool could do with a player like Belotti in their respective squads, but it seems that they are now facing competition from AS Roma.

Sacked by Tottenham only last month, Mourinho will take charge of Roma at the end of the season.

Calciomercato has claimed that Mourinho wants to sign the striker, who earns €3.5 million (£3.04 million) per year as salary and could be available for just over €25 million (£21.71 million).

While Spurs and Liverpool are massive clubs, staying in Serie A and working with Mourinho to make Roma title challengers again could be appealing to the striker.
