According to The Telegraph journalist Sam Dean, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was screaming at Nicolas Pepe in the final minutes of the Premier League game against Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park today.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has noted that Arsenal boss Arteta and his coaching staff were shouting at winger Pepe for not getting his defensive positioning right and for not pushing onto Philippe Coutinho.

Arsenal won 1-0 against Villa in the Premier League today.

Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the match in the first half.

Villa piled on the pressure in the final stages of the game and could have equalised.

Pepe came on for Saka in the 69th minute.

Nicolas Pepe was disappointing for Arsenal v Aston Villa

In our view, Arsenal winger Pepe did not give a good account of himself after coming on as a substitute for Saka.

The Ivory Coast international could not give much going forward and failed to make a notable impact on the match.

Pepe did not take any shot, had a pass accuracy of 85.7%, and took 14 touches.

The 26-year-old winger has made five starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season.

Pepe has scored one goal and given one assist in those games.
