According to Daily Star Sunday (13/06, p41), Brentford and Norwich City both want to sign West Bromwich Albion playmaker Matheus Pereira.

It’s claimed that the two promoted clubs are looking to raid West Brom following their relegation back to the Championship.

West Brom have allegedly reduced their asking price to £15million, meaning there is now mounting interest in his signature.

How did Pereira perform last season?

The Brazilian was one of the shining lights for West Brom in a poor season, bagging 11 goals in 33 Premier League outings.

Add in six assists too and Pereira averaged a goal contribution every other game, and it’s no great shock that teams want to sign him.

The 25-year-old has been branded a ‘magician’ on West Brom’s official website, so they would loathe to lose him – but he belongs at a higher level than the Championship.

What about Leeds and West Ham?

Norwich and Brentford aren’t alone in chasing Pereira, as The Express reported last month that Leeds United and West Ham United are also keen.

West Ham allegedly view Pereira as a potential replacement for Jesse Lingard, whilst Leeds could see him as the heir to Pablo Hernandez.

Pereira surely won’t be at West Brom next season, and if he’s available for £15million, expect half the Premier League to be chasing his signature.
