Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been linked with Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, and journalist David Ornstein’s latest comments will encourage the Anfield faithful.
The Daily Star reported in April that Liverpool are interested in signing Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp personally wants the former Leeds United midfielder at Elland Road.
The Merseyside club are reportedly willing to pay £35 million for the £160,000-a-week (SalarySport) England international.
Newcastle United and West Ham United have also been linked with the midfielder.
And The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has now said that Premier League champions City could sell the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window.
Ornstein said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel: “There’s a bit of uncertainty over Kalvin Phillips.
“Think Manchester City would be open to letting him go, but I am not sure he wants to go at this point so early in his Man City career.”

Liverpool should bid for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips
In our opinion, Liverpool should make a bid for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the summer transfer window.
If the Citizens are open to offers for the former Leeds United star, then Liverpool should at least try to sign him.
Yes, of course, we know that the Reds have just signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion, but there is room in the team for one or two more midfielders.
After all, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all are leaving Liverpool this summer.
Thiago has had injury problems, and Fabinho has not been great in recent times.
Phillips has really struggled to make an impact at City this season, but he was brilliant for Leeds in the Premier League and would make Liverpool better, stronger, more solid and more combative in the middle of the park.
