Gabriel Jesus moving to Arsenal seems like a very distinct possibility.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with signing the Manchester City hitman this summer and even though their Champions League qualification effort looks to have failed, it doesn’t mean a transfer to the Emirates Stadium is dead in the water.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this week that the 25-year-old striker is interested in Mikel Arteta’s project at the Emirates Stadium, with Gabriel knowing the Spaniard from his time as Pep Guardiola’s number two at the Etihad.

And ESPN has reported today that the player is set to ask permission to leave North London – and Pep, according to the story, isn’t going to stand in his way.

When is Gabriel Jesus moving to Arsenal?

Well, that remains to be seen, but the idea that Guardiola has okay’d the transfer is a massive boost for Arsenal.

They have been denied the chance to sign players from Premier League rivals before because, well, they’re Premier League rivals and strengthening the Gunners isn’t in the interest of a top-six Premier League outfit.

But with Arteta and Guardiola obviously being very close, it seems like the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach is willing to give his mate a helping hand – as suggested by an Irish pundit earlier in May.

Time will tell if Arsenal can get this deal done, but with the player himself willing to leave the Sky Blues to join Arteta’s side, and Guardiola happy to sign off on it, it’s beginning to look increasingly probable that the Brazilian international – valued at £50 million – will be heading to the capital this summer.
