According to Kicker, Hansi Flick’s job as Germany manager is not safe.

The former Bayern Munich boss was only hired last year after Joachim Low’s departure, but after failing to get out of the World Cup group stages, his job is handing by a threat.

The German FA have already fired Oliver Bierhoff as their General Manager, and now, Flick’s role as Head Coach is under fire.

So, if Flick goes, who comes in?

Well, there is one high-profile German manager on the market right now by the name of Thomas Tuchel.

Indeed, according to Kicker, Tuchel is a name to keep an eye out for as Germany search for Flick’s replacement.

Tuchel was recently sacked by Chelsea, but rather than jumping straight back into management, he’s been biding his time waiting for the right job – rejecting Aston Villa in the process.

Would Tuchel want the Germany job? Well, there’s reason to believe he would.

While international management is completely different to club management, Tuchel has reportedly expressed interest in that side of the game in the past, with many reports indicating that he’d have been open to taking the England job upon Gareth Southgate’s departure.

However, with Southgate’s job looking quite secure at the moment and Tuchel being German himself, surely the job at Die Mannschaft will appeal to the former Chelsea boss.

Tuchel was clearly waiting for the right opportunity to come up – that’s why he rejected Aston Villa, and now, he has the chance to take one of the biggest jobs in world football as Germany look to restore their pride and return to former glories after a torrid few years.
