OGC Nice are reportedly preparing to submit an offer to sign Manchester City defender Issa Kabore, with Nottingham Forest also interested in the 21-year-old talent.

According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 side have identified the Premier League youngster as a potential signing this summer, with City open to selling Kabore after the fullback impressed last season out on loan with Troyes, with Nice joining the likes of Forest and Brentford in the race to sign the right-back.

As per the report, the Burkina Faso international was ‘magical’ at times for Troyes, who are part of the City Football Group system, though despite impressing in France, City are open to selling the defender this summer as Pep Guardiola’s side look to recoup some funds from their spending this transfer window.

City have made three huge signings in Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland and this week Kalvin Phillips, with the Premier League champions already selling Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal for a reported £45m and Raheem Sterling reportedly close to joining Chelsea, with Southampton signing Gavin Bazunu and Romeo Lavia for a combined £22m.

Indeed, Kabore looks to be the next player City will look at selling this summer, with Nice believed to be opening talks at €10m (£8m), though the Manchester giants have set an asking price of €15m (£12m) for the African fullback, who only signed for the English side back in 2020.

With City looking to sell, though, Nice could land Kabore for the fee they are demanding, with the 21-year-old potentially an impressive signing for one of the most exciting teams in France, who next season will be competing in Europe in the form of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

City should allow Nice to sign Kabore for cheap fee with clauses

City have sold some top talents over the years, and the Manchester giants have been able to compensate these sales by including clauses such as a buyback option or a sell-on percentage, and Nice should expect something similar if they sign Kabore this summer.

After all, the defender was impressive last season for relegation-threatened Troyes, and Kabore himself would be open to moving to a club like Nice, who will compete in Europe next year and have ambitions plans of becoming one of the biggest clubs in France.
