Manchester City have reportedly eyed VfB Stuttgart star and rumoured Tottenham target Borna Sosa as a replacement for Oleksandr Zinechnko, with the Ukrainian international close to signing for Arsenal

According to Bild, Sosa can leave Stuttgart this summer for just €25m (£20m) despite new interest in the Croatian international from City, with Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona also targeting the Bundesliga superstar this summer, alongside Tottenham.

Although the German side were almost relegated from the top-flight, Sosa caught the eye with his dynamic performances down the left and his mesmerising set-piece deliveries, so much so that the defender has been labelled as a ‘Beckham-like’ talent in some reports.

With such an incredible comparison on his resume, it makes sense why the likes of City are interested in signing Sosa, with Pep Guardiola eager to sign a new left-back this summer with Zinchencko on the verge of a reported £30m move to Arsenal, the second player the Premier League champions have sold to Mikel Arteta this summer.

However, City are not the only English side chasing Sosa, with Tottenham linked to the defender this summer, with Antonio Conte looking for a long-term option at left-wingback following the arrival of Inter Milan veteran and fellow Croatian countryman Ivan Perisic.

Indeed, Sosa could be a fantastic addition to the Premier League this summer, but with City on the verge of selling Zinchenko, the Manchester giants stand in the best position to sign the Bundesliga star given the free space Guardiola’s side will soon have in their squad.

Sosa has proven his worth with Stuttgart in recent months, and with Arsenal set to sign Zinchenko from City in the coming days, Guardiola must act fast to secure a replacement for the 25-year-old fullback, and the Bundesliga star could be perfect despite interest from Tottenham.

After all, City have the financial power and the reputation of winning regular silverware to lure Sosa to Manchester, with the defender seemingly keen on signing for a big club following his near-escape from relegation last season with Stuttgart.
