Liverpool have a number of exciting young players coming through at the moment, but perhaps the most intriguing teenager on their books right now is Ben Doak.

According to The Athletic, the Reds are very excited about the potential possessed by the young winger.

Doak was signed from Celtic last season, and despite being just 17, he has already shown his promise in the few games he has played for Liverpool. In particular, he impressed in the Aston Villa game back in December where he looked incredibly bright off the bench.

A left-winger by trade, Doak possesses excellent pace and trickery, which makes him a difficult proposition for opposition defenders to deal with.

Doak has caught the eye of those within Liverpool, while club legend, Kenny Dalglish, has hailed the winger too in the past.

The Athletic report suggests that some within Liverpool see Doak as a potential star in the making. It is said that there is a growing excitement around the youngster and that Liverpool now don’t want to make any signings that will block his pathway.

Unfortunately, that path to the first-team is already somewhat congested. The likes of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota are all already operating on the wings, so it won’t be easy for Doak to break through.

Indeed, It remains to be seen how quickly Doak will break into the first team at Liverpool, but his early performances have certainly caught the eye of those within the club. The Reds will be keen to continue nurturing his development and help him realise his full potential.

At just 17, Doak has already impressed in his limited game time and could well be the next star to emerge from the Liverpool talent conveyor belt. It will be interesting to see how he develops in the coming months and years.
