Speculation is beginning to intensify regarding Aurelien Tchouameni and Liverpool this summer.

Earlier in May it was reported by Empire of the Kop that the Monaco midfielder was keen to join Jurgen Klopp’s outfit during the upcoming transfer window.

According to The Echo, Liverpool would have to pay around £52 million to sign the France international.

And Cadena Ser in Spain have reported that Tchouameni – also linked with a transfer to Real Madrid – has been offered to the Anfield outfit this summer.

The report adds that Real have contingency plans in the form of Paul Pogba, who has been offered to the Bernabeu club.

Good signing for Liverpool?

Yes. A thousand times, yes.

Liverpool are a tad reliant on Fabinho and that sentiment might be proven correct over the coming weeks, with the Brazilian defensive midfielder limping out of Tuesday’s victory over Aston Villa ahead of the FA Cup and Champions League final.

The Reds absolutely need another powerful midfielder to compete with Fabinho and Tchouameni – labelled a ‘complete midfielder’ by Cesc Fabregas – certainly fits the bill.

The 22-year-old, who is six years younger than Fabinho, has such a promising future and under a man-manager like Klopp, there’s no telling how much better he’ll become on Merseyside.

Nobody is saying that Fabinho needs to be replaced, because he’s been a colossus under the German manager these past few years.

But Liverpool appear to be slowly but surely building – or trying to build – their next great squad, a younger one including Ibrahima Konate, Harvey Elliott, Kaide Gordon, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

And maybe, just maybe, Klopp fancies Tchouameni to come in and be involved in his rebuilding project.
