Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in signing Marcos Llorente from Atlético Madrid.
That is according to Mundo Deportivo in Spain, who believe Jürgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag are eyeing a move for the Spain international after Diego Simeone guided his side out of European competition by finishing bottom in Group B of the Champions League.
Liverpool & Manchester United want Marcos Llorente
Well, as a result of their woeful Champions League campaign, Atlético Madrid now need to raise some funds through sales to make up for the lost revenue.
As a result, those at the Wanda Metropolitano have slapped a €40m (£35m) price tag on Llorente’s head, and are prepared to sell him along with the likes of Joao Felix, Yannick Carrasco, Thomas Lemar and Rodrigo De Paul.
Mundo Deportivo believe the 27-year-old has fallen out of favour under Simeone as his performance levels drop, although there is no denying that he has talent.

We aren’t sure what has happened since, but in the 2020/21 campaign, Llorente had a freakishly good season.
The Spaniard scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions as Atlético Madrid won La Liga ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, Llorente then failed to score in 40 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign.
Jürgen Klopp loves Liverpool & Manchester United target
In that season before that astonishing 2020/21 campaign, Atlético Madrid knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League in the Round of 16.
Two goals and an assist from Llorente at Anfield helped the Spanish side secure a 3-2 win on aggregate, which led to praise from Klopp after full-time.
When criticising Simeone’s defensive style of play, the German named Llorente – as well as Koke and Saul Niguez – as someone who is capable of playing better football than what the Argentine serves up.
The Metro quote Klopp as saying: “When I see players like Llorente, Koke, Saul… they could play proper football but they stand deep in their own half and have counter-attacks.”
Clearly, the 55-year-old is a fan of the Atlético Madrid No.14 – keep an eye on this situation, as a move could materialise in 2023.
