Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Daniel Jebbison from Sheffield United, by Team Talk.
Jebbison to Liverpool?
The striker broke a Premier League record last season, when he became the youngest ever player to score in their first start in England’s top flight.
Jebbison netted against Liverpool’s local rivals, Everton, at the age of just 17 – to write his name in the history books.
He has since been loaned out by Sheffield United to Burton Albion this season, but his form has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp’s scouts.
After six goals in 14 games for Burton, it seems that Liverpool are one of a number of clubs taking a closer look at the striker.
Clever signing?
If Jebbison was to join the Reds he could be part of a group of young players at the Reds who have been snapped up at an early age.
Liverpool moved quickly to sign Harvey Elliott and Kaide Gordon, and it seems that they are thinking ahead with Jebbison again.
The teenager is unlikely to be challenging for Roberto Firmino or Diogo Jota’s starting place in the immediate future.
But he could well come into contention if he does fulfil his undoubted potential.
Jebbison is blessed with great pace and is also a good size for his age, but it is his finishing ability which has really impressed at Burton so far.
And Liverpool could be making a smart move by snapping the forward up ahead of time, before he reaches the peak of his value.
