Fabrizio Romano has said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are in contact with Celta de Vigo central midfielder Gabri Veiga.
The Italian journalist has told GiveMeSport that Liverpool are interested in signing Gabri Veiga from Celta de Vigo in the summer transfer window.
Romano has said that the Premier League giants are in contact with the 21-year-old Spanish central midfielder.
Italian journalist Rudi Gatelleti has earlier told GiveMeSport that the youngster has a release clause of €40 million (£34 million) in his contract at Celta.
Romano said: “They want to be 100% convinced on the next step they will do in the midfield because after signing Alexis McAllister, it is now really important for them to make sure they find the right player to complete the midfield.
“So all of them [Kone, Veiga and Thuram] are in contact with Liverpool, waiting for them to decide who is the next big target but for sure, at least one more midfielder will arrive.”

Could Liverpool sign Gabri Veiga from Celta de Vigo?
In our opinion, Liverpool do have a good chance of signing Gabri Veiga from Celta de Vigo in the summer transfer window.
That the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are in contact with the 21-year-old shows that they are very keen on the youngster.
Liverpool will be fully aware of the release clause that Veiga has in his contract.
And it is not much – just £34 million.
It is very much affordable for a club as big and wealthy as Liverpool.
Veiga made 28 starts and eight substitute appearances in La Liga for Celta last season.
The midfielder scored 11 goals and gave four assists in those games.
