Liverpool could soon have summer signing Calvin Ramsay available for selection with the Scottish youngster close to returning from an injury that has kept the defender out all season.
According to the Athletic, the 19-year-old right-back could soon be ready to play for the Reds with Ramsay increasing his workload at Kirkby as the defender inches closer to finally making his debut for Liverpool. The teenager signed from Aberdeen in the summer but is yet to feature at all for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Ramsay is yet to plan a fixture for Liverpool at any level or competition due to an injury the Reds medical team picked up on after the defender joined from Scotland, and the right-back’s return comes at an ideal time for the Merseyside giants ahead of the restart of club football.
Liverpool have endured a rough start to the new campaign as Klopp’s men currently sit eighth in the Premier League standings, with injuries once again playing a brutal role in the Reds’ poor season so far. However, the return of Ramsay, as well as Curtis Jones and Ibrahima Konate as per the Athletic, will help greatly with the current problems.

Signed from Aberdeen in the summer, Ramsay is regarded by many as one of the most exciting Scottish talents to emerge in recent years, with former Scotland international Willie Miller labelling the teenager as a ‘special’ talent as per the Press and Journal.
Indeed, Ramsay has some catching up to do if he is to rival Trent Alexander-Arnold for the right-back position at Liverpool. But the defender’s timely return from injury is a big boost for the Reds, and the teenager could make a real statement in the coming weeks if he makes his debut for the Premier League giants.
Calvin Ramsay can breakout with Liverpool after return from injury

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup just two months away, a lot of football has to be played between now and November, and Ramsay’s return from injury could mean plenty of first-team chances for the Scottish talent. And the teenager could enjoy a breakout period if he impresses with the Reds.
After all, Liverpool will be competing in the UEFA Champions League and the League Cup, and with Premier League fixtures already quite congested, Ramsay will no doubt have a chance to impress his new supporters and to prove to them what is he made of.
