Liverpool signing Gavi is a transfer rumour that’s slowly gathering some momentum.
In May, Spanish outlet Sport reported that Liverpool were willing to pay the £42 million needed to trigger the 17-year-old sensation’s release clause at Barcelona.
Days later, it was reported in 90 Min that the Anfield outfit had officially made contact with the Camp Nou club about bringing him to the Premier League.
At 17, Gavi clearly has an incredible future ahead of him and even Manchester United legend Roy Keane was impressed by him earlier in 2022, describing the partnership between him and Pedri as ‘pure quality‘.
And now Tuttomercatoweb claim in Italy that if the player does indeed leave Catalunya this summer, Liverpool is a ‘probable destination’.
TMW also reference a separate report from La Repubblica about AC Milan also being interested in the youngster, though.
The Italian giants are back on the rise after winning Serie A this past season.
But if it’s a choice between Liverpool and Milan, well joining Jurgen Klopp’s outfit is a no brainer.
This is a team who up until two weeks ago had a genuine shot at winning the quadruple and although they failed to win the Premier League and Champions League, Klopp’s troops will come back stronger next time around.
The Reds will continue to improve and signing someone like Gavi, well he would certainly accelerate that progression.
Liverpool signing Gavi isn’t a foregone conclusion, but the signs appear to be getting stronger all the time.
