Leeds United may not be able to bring Abel Hernandez to Elland Road after all.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United’s pursuit of Abel Hernandez is going cold over the financial package required to bring him to Elland Road.
The Whites are certainly in the market for a new striker this summer, especially having seen Pierre-Michel Lasogga return to Hamburg and Jay-Roy Grot head out on loan to VVV-Venlo.
Marcelo Bielsa needs a front man, and with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that a deal for Derby County’s Matej Vydra is stalling, the same can be said of the club’s pursuit of Abel Hernandez.
It’s claimed that a deal for Hernandez is ‘going cold’, with Leeds having problems meeting the financial package needed to sign the striker – despite him being a free agent.
Hernandez, 27, is available on a free transfer having allowed his Hull City contract to run down this summer, and he will be assessing his options ahead of the new season.
The Uruguayan international missed a huge chunk of last season, but returned late on to score five goals in seven games and help keep the Tigers in the Championship.

The 2014 signing from Palermo did choose to leave the KCOM Stadium though, and as a free agent, he looked to be the perfect signing for Leeds – but the injury-prone striker appears to be demanding beyond what the Whites are willing to pay.
The Mirror claimed last month that new boss Bielsa had sanctioned a move for Hernandez, but he may be left disappointed as Leeds seemingly struggle to get a deal over the line.
