Leeds United are set to tie Kalvin Phillips down to a new contract.

According to The Telegraph, Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is set to pen a new contract with the club, believed to be a four-year deal.
The 23-year-old became a star last season, thriving under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa as he developed into one of the finest holding midfielders outside of the Premier League.
The Whites had to fend off major interest in Phillips over the summer, with Aston Villa and Burnley both reportedly failing with moves for him.
Fans have been desperate to see Phillips stay with his hometown club, and whilst he now appears ready for the Premier League, he’s committing to life with Leeds.
It’s believed that Phillips is on the verge of signing a new four-year deal with the Whites, earning a pay rise in the process.

Leeds turned down a bid of around £15million from Villa for Phillips, so the new contract will certainly allow them to command an even higher price for him if teams come back in in the future.
More contract news could come soon, as Mateusz Klich is also in talks about a new deal, meaning two Leeds midfielders may be about to commit their futures to the club in a major boost.
