According to The Express, Leeds United have been offered the chance to sign West Bromwich Albion playmaker Matheus Pereira.

West Brom’s relegation means some players may be wanted back in the Premier League immediately, such as Pereira and Sam Johnstone.

It’s noted that Leicester City, RB Leipzig and West Ham United are all keen on Pereira, but he’s actually been offered up to Leeds.

Leeds given golden chance at Pereira

It’s suggested that Leeds were approached about the possibility of signing Pereira, but haven’t followed up on initial discussions.

Leeds could be in the market for a creative number 10 given Pablo Hernandez’s exit, with more competition needed for Rodrigo, who can also play up front.

Pereira was a shining light in West Brom’s campaign with 11 goals and six assists, and it would be little surprise to see Leeds firm up their interest at some point this summer.

What has been said about Pereira?

Pereira is branded as a ‘magician’ on West Brom’s own official website, which sums up the quality he possesses.

Whilst on loan at Nurnberg in Germany, Pereira was even likened to Mohamed Salah in a pretty lofty comparison.

The 25-year-old may not quite hit those levels, but he could still be a fine signing for Leeds with great creative ability if they choose to take up this opportunity.
