West Bromwich Albion have reportedly made an offer to sign Matheus Pereira on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

There wasn’t much for Nurnburg fans to shout about last season.
The Bavarian-based outfit finished bottom of the table in their one and only campaign back in the Bundesliga after all, going down with barely a whimper. But at least Matheus Pereira gave these put-upon supporters a few moments to savour.
A typically skilful and soulful Brazilian forward, Pereira added a dash of class and talent in an otherwise dire Nurnburg team. And his glorious curling finish in April’s Bavarian derby against the giants of Bayern Munich, a goal which sealed a famous point for Nurnburg, was arguably the club’s best moment of the entire 2018/19 season.
“With Pereira, we have a unique footballer of high quality,” Nuremberg captain Hanno Behrens told the Bundesliga’s official website, while the 23-year-old has drawn comparisons with Liverpool superstar Mo Salah for his mazy dribbling and tendency to cut inside onto his left foot.

Unfortunately for Nurnburg, they don’t have Pereira any longer. The winger returned to parent club Sporting Lisbon after their relegation. But, according to Record, he could be playing his football in England’s Championship soon with West Bromwich Albion making a proposal to sign Perreira on loan.
Slaven Bilic appears to be building a young and promising West Brom squad and Pereira could be their second Portuguese-based loanee after Benfica’s Croatian play-maker Filip Krovinovic.
And if he can replicate his impact at Nurnburg, West Brom could have the Championship’s answer to Mo Salah drifting past full-backs for fun.
