According to The Athletic, Leeds United have decided against a move to sign Liverpool wide man Harry Wilson this summer.
It’s stated that Liverpool want around €20million (£17million) for Wilson, and he looks unlikely to earn a move unless that price tag drops.
Leeds were interested, but are now believed to have backed away because that fee would take up too much of their budget.
How did Wilson perform last season?
Wilson went out on loan to Cardiff City due to a lack of first-team opportunities at Liverpool, and he unsurprisingly starred in the Championship with seven goals and 12 assists.
Wilson was branded ‘very, very dangerous’ at Championship level by then-Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall, who coached him with the Cherries in the 2019-20 season.
Now 24, the Welsh international needs to find a permanent home and play regularly, rather than be on the sidelines at Liverpool or out on loan.
Leeds have been linked with Wilson for years
Back in 2018 it was reported that Leeds fancied signing Wilson on loan from Liverpool, but he ended up joining Derby County instead.
Leeds remained keen in 2019, and sure enough, he was linked again last summer after Leeds won promotion the Premier League.
For a fourth summer in a row, Leeds are being linked – but it again looks like he won’t be heading to Elland Road.
