West Bromwich Albion have reportedly beaten Leeds United and Birmingham City to the signing of Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley in the summer transfer window.

Bartley is hugely popular among the Leeds fans, with the former Arsenal prospect having been a massive success during his loan spell at Elland Road during the 2016-17 campaign.
The former England Under-17 international defender formed a formidable partnership with Sweden international central defender Pontus Jansson at the heart of the Leeds defence, as the Whites narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship playoffs.
Move close
According to The Express & Star, Leeds – as well as championship rivals Birmingham City, who are managed by former Whites’ boss Garry Monk – want to sign Bartley from Swansea in the summer transfer window.
However, it has been reported that the Baggies have agreed a £4 million deal with Swansea, and that the defender has agreed personal terms and will undergo a medical today.
It has also been reported that the announcement of the deal could be made before West Brom’s pre-season friendly match against Swindon Town on Saturday.

Disappointment for Leeds United
Leeds fans will be disappointed when the move finally goes through, as he could have made the Whites’ defence so much better next season.
As reported on HITC Sport here, many Leeds fans on Twitter have wanted the defender to move to Elland Road this summer.
