According to L’Equipe, Chelsea are looking to beat Liverpool to the signing of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman by offering Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Sport1 reported last month that Liverpool were keen to sign Coman and had made a first move by contacting his representatives.

The French winger could be available this summer given that he has just two years left on his Bayern deal, with agent Pini Zahavi now actively approaching Premier League clubs.

Liverpool do need to find more attacking quality, especially to cope with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah heading to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Coman could fit the bill, but L’Equipe now suggest that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are allegedly willing to engineer a part-exchange deal which would see Callum Hudson-Odoi – a long-term Bayern target – leave with Coman heading to West London.

That could be a very tempting offer for Bayern, and could be one to blow Liverpool out of the water.

The Reds seemingly don’t have a huge budget to work with this summer, and beating Chelsea will now be very hard if Bayern still want Hudson-Odoi.

Tracked as the third-fastest player at Euro 2020, Coman can provide real pace to any club targeting him, and it looks like Chelsea are a more likely destination than Liverpool as things stand.
