Juventus are reportedly close to agreeing on a deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic, who has been chased by Arsenal for most of the January window.
According to La Nazione, the Serie A giants are ‘hours way’ from striking a €60m (£50m) agreement with ACF Fiorentina to sign the Serbian international. Vlahovic has been on the radar for both Arsenal and Juventus this month, with the Italian side seemingly winning the race.
The 21-year-old striker leads the Serie A scoring charts and was one of the most prolific goalscorers in 2021. Arsenal, as reported by the Daily Mail, were keen on signing Vlahovic. However, the player and agent are not sold on a move to north London.
Now, it appears that Juventus have won the race for Vlahovic. The Turin-based side have been chasing a striker all January, and the Serie A titans are closing in on a deal for the best forward in Italy.
As for Arsenal, the deal is a huge blow to the north London side. Mikel Arteta has seemingly been chasing and prioritising Vlahovic all January. And now, with under a week left to go in the window, the Gunners will be scrambling to sign a striker.
According to the Athletic, Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are targets for Arsenal. However, whether a deal can be reached with either striker before Monday’s deadline is another story entirely.
Arsenal must work fast to sign a striker with Vlahovic Juventus-bound

It is perhaps typical that Arsenal put all their eggs into one basket with Vlahovic only for the striker to sign for Italy’s biggest club. We have seen similar situations happen with the Gunners with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez.
Indeed, with Vlahovic now set to sign for Juventus, Arsenal now face a race against time to bring in a new centre-forward target. And with the deadline on Monday, there is no room for error for Arteta’s side.
