Italian outlet CMW claim that Juventus have now added a third Tottenham player to their summer shortlist after previous reports of interest in Lucas Moura and Sergio Reguilon – this time, in the form of Giovani Lo Celso.

Lo Celso, 26, has struggled to prove himself at Spurs since joining the club on loan before signing permanently in 2020. Just 84 appearances have come his way in three years at Spurs, scoring just eight goals.

A lack of form, momentum and any real impact on Tottenham’s side saw Antonio Conte prove ruthless in January – offloading him on loan to Villarreal, where he has since starred. Now, a permanent exit is more than likely.

With Spurs already spending around £100million on Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic. Djed Spence and Clement Lenglet are also expected to come in – and Lo Celso could reduce their net spend.

Earlier reports this summer state that Fabio Paratici is trying to sell Reguilon to Juventus. Lucas Moura could also end up at the Old Lady. Now, Juventus are keeping an eye on Copa America winner Lo Celso.

Lo Celso is a top player, at the wrong club. He proved as much at Villarreal. You do not start for Argentina and help win a Copa America without being, potentially, one of Europe’s top midfielders.

He has the potential to reach that level if at the right club. Lo Celso’s slightly slower tempo might suit Serie A, able to pick a pass and thread a needle. If Juventus and Tottenham can make the deal happen, it makes sense.
