CalcioMercatoWeb claim that Tottenham and Fabio Paratici are ‘trying’ to sell Sergio Reguilon to Juventus for a fee in the region of £26million. Spurs opened talks with AZ Alkmaar over the weekend, to sign Owen Wijndal.

Spurs are set to shake up their options at wing-back. Djed Spence is a target, while Ivan Perisic has come in on a free from Inter Milan. Reguilon is in the firing line after a disappointing 2021-22 season at Spurs.

With 22-year-old Netherlands international Wijndal the subject of Spurs talks this summer, space will have to be made. That could be in the form of Reguilon, with Paratici now actively trying to sell the ex-Real Madrid man.

Indeed, Barcelona and Juventus are keen – but the former are struggling financially. Juventus, Paratici’s old employers, want a left-back and are keen on Reguilon. CMW say Paratici is ‘trying’ to sell him to Juve, for £26m.

With Perisic already at the club, Reguilon has instantly become third choice. It is not like he has the versatility to play in other positions either. He is not a left winger and he is certainly not a left-sided centre-back.

Ryan Sessegnon was ahead of him towards the end of the season and Perisic is now likely to be first choice. Reguilon may want to stay and fight but Spurs need cash to bring in signings and Reguilon will surely go.

It makes sense for all parties. Reguilon has not done enough to convince Spurs fans since his move from Real Madrid, and if Paratici can get north of £25million for him, then it is an absolute no-brainer.
